A/C Repair and air Filter Replacement

When was the last time you brought your truck in for A/C Repair or an air filter replacement? Back 20 years ago an air conditioner (a/c) in your truck was a luxury and now it is often taken for granted and not given care. When this happens the whole air conditioning system fails and causes you to lose this once luxury item. Being able to cool your vehicle is essential to its comfort and needs continuous maintenance in order to keep it running effectively. By going to these regular checkups, you can ensure your whole a/c system is properly functioning which will also help avoid bigger problems down the road.

One of the main parts of the air conditioner that needs consistent maintenance is the A/C filter. This is an air filter whose purpose is to remove contaminants from the air in the vehicle's a/c. These contaminants are dust and other allergens that are harmful to breathe in. If the filter is not routinely replaced, you’re a/c system will become clogged. Although most vehicles will require replacements at different periods depending on the make, model, and year of your truck, our suggestion is to replace the filter every 15,000-30,000 miles. If you do not get your filter replaced 3 things will happen

·      Allergens will pollute your truck

·      The air from the a/c will not come out as strong

·      There will be reduced power from the engine because the a/c is in need

  • we will be going over the best ways to identify issues with your air conditioning system. These are the most common and the repairs we are doing most frequently at our truck repair shop.

This could be the sign of a lack of coolant that just needs to be refilled. However, the usual suspects are a broken compressor, blown up fuse, broken fan motor, or a damaged evaporator that prevent the air from getting cooled.

Little Air Blows Out of Vents

This is the one of the most common a/c repair indicators and it means that something is preventing the air from getting out the vents. The underlying issues range from mold build up on the evaporator core, issues with ventilation fan, loose blower hose, or even issues with the seals.

Noisy A/c system

If you are hearing a rattling noise whenever you turn your truck’s A/C on, it can be the sign of serious damage like a broken fan belt or condenser. However, it could also be something small like built of debris.

Strange odors

If you are smelling a foul odor coming from, you’re a/c system it is likely either have a mass amount of dirt in the filter creating the smell or mold has built up. Either needs to be tended to but the mold build up could be very harmful.
